The doctors and staff of Smiles for the Future Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics of Glastonbury, CT, are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Lorin Trettel, a specialist in orthodontics, to the practice.
Dr. Lorin studied biomedical engineering and neuroscience at Syracuse University before attending dental school at the University of Connecticut. At UCONN, she obtained a doctorate degree in biomedical science with a concentration in skeletal biology along with her dental degree. Dr. Trettel then completed a residency in orthodontics before entering private practice. She has been treating orthodontic patients since completing her training at the University of Connecticut.
While studying for her degrees, Dr. Trettel managed to donate her time to many volunteer activities such as the Craniofacial Team at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, the South Park Homeless Shelter in Hartford and the Hartford Health Education Program in the Hartford Public School system. She enjoyed extensive responsibilities in teaching medical and dental students as well as residents.
She also earned many awards and honors during her education. They include a Predoctoral Fellowship from the National Institute of Health, a Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research, an award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research among other fellowships and scholarships.

Dr. Trettel will bring to Smiles for the Future Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics her accomplished background, her gentle and patient demeanor and her excellence in treatment of orthodontic patients. She is excited to join our team of staff and doctors to provide superb care to our patients requiring orthodontics.
Enjoying family time with her husband and young son also keeps Dr. Lorin equally busy.
